碰巧看到這個問題，大致瀏覽了一下各種回答，英文翻譯中有近似的，但好像都不是十分貼切。因為「作」這個表達算是中文裡面比較特有的乙個概念，英文裡好像還真不太容易想出乙個字詞直接準確地翻譯。
當說乙個人很「作」的時候，大意應該是說這個人經常「Does silly things for attention or for trouble「，」does dumb things which likely cause trouble for oneself「。所以如果說「她又在作啦」，可表達為「She's acting silly for trouble again「。

個人理解「作」大致等於法律中或道家中說的的「作為」，對於這兩個「作為」，英語中都可以用act來表示，而且既可以用作動詞也可以用作名詞。
He is just acting.
他正作著呢。（這個作既可以是表演性質的作，也可以是折騰性質的作。）Just keep acting as you like.
你就作吧。（同上）
