Let's image you're sitting at the opposite side, testing one of your foreign candidates on oral Chinese. What would you pay attention to in order to give them a score between 0 to 9?

You don't wanna give 'em a fairly high score just because they're showing off a speech with a battery of professional words and expressions that you would only be able to run into during a hearing.

Likewise, if they're jabbering all the way up to more than 10 minutes, I bet you hardly tell the difference between them and an illiterate.

Those ain't natural to your brain.

You expect someone who has an eye contact that makes you comfortable, talks about a story that seems reasonable from your point of view, or has a tone of voice that encourages you to listen up.
