英語六種基本句型裡同時包括There be和主係表，這是有道理的。
從結構上看，確實都是be + 名詞。
但，主係表結構表示的是主語所處的狀態，there be表示的是主語（名詞）的客觀存在。
完全不是一回事。
還是推薦分成兩個類別記。
語言是用來表意的，脫離開這個就什麼都別談了。

這種句型結構上是倒裝的。There是乙個虛詞，在這種句子中沒有什麼實際的意義。
比如： There is no person in the classroom.
如果按照正常的順序來寫就是，No person is in the classroom. 從後者來看，這就是乙個典型的主係表句子。
同樣的型別還有it做形式主語的情況。例如：
It is hard to manage English grammar without a number of practices.
的正序形態是：
To manage English grammar without a number of practices is hard.
真正的主語是To manage English grammar，這個結構也是主係表。但是我們也看到了，如果這樣寫，會顯得主語非常長，顯得頭重腳輕，所以在英語中會被處理成形式主語開頭的形式，讓結構變得更為平衡，看起來像是表語的不定式多長都沒關係。

是主係表句型,是倒裝句式。
請看下面的句子：
A book is on the desk.
A book is there.
A book is there on the desk.
在上面的句子裡，there就是表示地點的副詞。
There is a book on the desk.
表示地點的副詞提前，句子用了倒裝。久而久之，there be成為固定搭配，there也失去了地點副詞的作用。甚至可以有下面的句子：
There is a book there on the desk.
第乙個there是固定搭配；第二個there是地點副詞。

It seems to me that "there be" is not a linking verb.
Usually the verb "be", when used with "there", needs another helping verb to form a question.
Examples:
Will there be a game tonight?
How many more victories can there be with this team?
Why couldn't there be more helpful people like you in this world?
